Recommended Beginner Blogging Books
Another post about blogging, not exactly my primary mission, but this is what I’ve been spending numerous hours on, staying up later than usual, and getting up earlier. I suppose if this helps someone else get started, then it was worth it.
The other nite while Christmas shopping I stopped into Borders book store to see what books were available about blogging. There were a few, and many about websites in general, but I did not want an overly technical book. My goal was to learn basics about using a self-hosted Wordpress site. I hate to admit it, but after at least a couple hours looking thru many books, 2 Dummies books were the ones I settled upon:
Blogging For Dummies
WordPress For Dummies
Please note that they are both second edition books. I highly recommend NOT buying the first editions. I did look on Ebay and found some older copies but decided it was too important to have updated information. The prices on Amazon were substantially lower than retail prices in the bookstore, and Amazon offers free Super Saver Shipping over $25. How can you beat that? Can’t believe I decided on Dummies books but they did in fact seem to cover all the necessary elements to get started.
